MAP NATIONAL PARK CANAIMA

The Archipelago of The Asleep ones is located 166 Km. to the north of the airport of Maiquetía (a flight of aprox.35 minutes). National declared Park in 1972 and, more recently, a paradisiac place, to protect its marine unique atmosphere, has a marine and terrestrial surface of 225.153 hectares and it Includes more than 50 keys, the island of Great Asleep, and about 300 coralline reefs.

The white wonderful sands and the crystalline waters shine and they welcome him/her, next to the great variety of species that houses the park, since is one of the marine coastal but representative ecosystems of the country, being this the reason to obtain the titles of National Park and A Humedal of international importance that I declare RAMSAR, a world convention that promotes the conservation of the humedales of the world, to guarantee among many things the water, their products and the life in the planet.

Welcome to the I finish virgin paradise in Caribbean...

The Asleep form a beautiful mark for but of 50 keys and 300 banks of sand, in atoll form, he/she makes it only and incomparable to this group and insular of the Venezuelan seas. This located in him/her sea caribe, to the north of Venezuela, among the 11º 44' 45 '' and 11º 58'36 '' of north latitude and the 66º 32'42 '' and 66º 52'27 '' of longitude west of Greenwich, being concentrated to about 120 Kms. To the North of Naiquatá in Costa of Dto. Capital.

The Archipelago in The Asleep way a rectangle of 36.3 Km. Of This to West for 24.6 Km. Of North to South. This complex arrecifal, understanding each other as such the emerged areas and submerged, it includes more than 1.500 Km .2 while the area of limited of keys and islands reaches the 1.000 Kms approximately .2. The Asleep ones are the National but big Park in Caribbean with an extension but big of the Virgin Islands.  

The Archipelago of The Asleep ones as well as other Archipelagos and Venezuelan islands (Orchila, Ave, Island of Ave, Blanquilla, The Turtle, The Witness, The Friars, etc.), for their position with regard to the Venezuelan costs, it works as barrier protector of the marejadas and winds originated by storms or eventual hurricanes, helping to diminish this way the destructive potential that could carry when falling on these in a certain moment.

Among all the islands belonging to the archipelago, the most important is the Great one Asleep, not so much for their surface, since there are others that overcome it in their size if not to contain most of the population and being the commercial and administrative center of the islands.

Great Asleep this located in the part N.E of the Archipelago, being their geographical coordinates 11º 47'33 '' north and 66º 40'37 '' from Greenwich for their central part. He/she has form of a triangle rectangle with the vertex but sharp guided in address N-74ºO., and their maximum dimensions are: 3,15 km. S.E at N.W and 990mt. In their oriental end, where the coast (bony the triangle peasant) follows the address N.E.- S.W.

The relief of the island offers two very different areas, the first one is a mountainous small chain, of little but of 2 Km. Of extension that runs throughout the northern coast, with a bigger elevation that embraces the 124Mt.; the second area understands the third two parts of the island and this formed by low, sandy lands and anegadizos with moons of salted water that in its borders and due to the evaporation, it clots the salt. To the contact with this lagoon sandy playones of certain width appears.

In summary, it can be said that in the north half of the island, a relief landscape is developed that extends toward the west until reaching the sea giving place to an abrupt coast without beaches the island in its north slope, it presents an abrupt topography with cliffs of strong slopes toward the sea, of the order of the 70º and even but, represented by vertical headlands and salient very similar block is the south slope of the western block.

Posed MACABI, it is the smallest inn. It is located between the square of the town and the beach, very near the Restaurant the Jetty. It possesses a small entrance hall.

Restaurant THE JETTY. Located beside the beach, of food very varied, served style buffet. He/she will also be able to degustar Lobsters during the season November / April, the schedule is AM of 7:30. at 9:00 AM. and the Dinner of 7:15 PM. to 8:30 PM. People that want a special menu should notify it previously, equally people that decide to remain in earth.

Exit of the National Airport of Maiquetía at the 05:30 or 07:30 a.m.

They will be received by the guides of TUY in the Airport of Great Asleep for then to be taken directly to carry out the trip to the keys on board our Catamaran where you/they have included the non-alcoholic drinks and the lunch (for this reason the passenger should take the suit of bathroom position, under the clothes and a handbag with what will need during the day.
